Wuruma Dam, completed in 1968, is a picturesque reservoir located on the Nogo River in Queensland's North Burnett Region. Spanning 1,639 hectares with a capacity of 165,400 megalitres, it serves as a vital water source for local agriculture and communities. The dam is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping, offering 40 designated camping sites with basic facilities. Visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing for species like Australian Bass, Barramundi, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, and Saratoga, as well as boating and water sports. Camping is free of charge, with stays limited to a maximum of three weeks within any four-week period. Please note that open fires are strictly prohibited, and pets must be kept on a leash. The area is managed by Sunwater, which provides detailed information on recreational activities and safety guidelines.
