Woronora Dam, constructed between 1927 and 1941, is a heritage-listed concrete gravity dam located approximately 50 kilometers south of Sydney. It supplies water to communities south of the Georges River and parts of the Illawarra region. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas equipped with electric barbecues, playgrounds, and clean facilities. A walk across the 390-meter dam wall offers panoramic views of the reservoir and the surrounding gorge. The serpentine spillway, with its unique design, provides a striking sight. Please note that swimming is not permitted in the dam.
