Established in 1959 by Wollongong City Council, the gardens feature mature gum trees, extensive rose gardens, and memorial walls. The site includes two chapels suitable for private or community services, as well as outdoor memorial services amidst the lush gardens. The administration office is also located here. The gardens are open daily from 6 am to 5:30 pm during standard time and until 7 pm during daylight saving time.
