The Historic Precinct features unique buildings such as the Blue Stone Police Lock-up, Stables, Gallows, Courthouse, Sexton's Office, and local art. The research room offers a wealth of family folders, photos, and letters, bringing local history to life. The Courthouse, built in 1861, is open for viewing. The society also hosts a Country Market on the third Saturday of each month at the Historic Precinct, Brooke Street, Smythesdale, from 9 am to 1 pm. The research office is located at 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale, Victoria.
