Wivenhoe Beach stretches 1.3 kilometers east from the Emu River's mouth to the base of 225-meter-high Round Hill. This narrow, straight beach features a 100-meter-wide low tide terrace and intertidal rock flats near its eastern end. A seawall protects the Naval Reserve building at the center, while the rest is bordered by a narrow reserve, the Bass Highway, and South Burnie. The beach is dog-friendly, allowing off-leash access year-round. Amenities include a parking area and waste bins; however, there are no public restrooms or water taps available.
