Located at 1 Windmill Lane, Totness, the Windmill Hill Transfer Station offers a convenient facility for residents to dispose of various waste items. Operated by the Mount Barker District Council, it accepts domestic waste oil, car and truck batteries, and used LPG gas bottles. As a Paintback collection site, it also accepts unwanted paint and packaging for free, with a limit of 100 litres per vehicle per visit. Mulch is available for purchase, and the station hosts eight free clean green waste drop-off days annually. Operating hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Sunday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM; it remains closed on Mondays and public holidays.
