
West Montagu is a rural locality in Tasmania's Circular Head region, approximately 25 kilometers northwest of Smithton. Situated along Route C215 (Montagu Road), it offers access to the scenic Robbins Passage and the Montagu River. The area is characterized by its temperate climate, reliable rainfall, and fertile red basalt soils, making it suitable for agriculture. The 2016 census recorded a population of 45 residents. Notably, West Montagu Berries, located at 409 West Montagu Road, provides fresh raspberries and blueberries, available for pick-your-own or delivery.
