Waverley is a residential suburb located approximately 5 kilometers east of Launceston, Tasmania. The area is home to the historic Waverley Woollen Mills and the Waverley Primary School. The 2016 census recorded a population of 1,501 residents. Waverley is the first suburb to pass through when entering Launceston from the east coast via the Tasman Highway.
