Located 35 km north-west of Ballarat, the Waubra Wind Farm features 128 turbines generating 192 MW of clean energy, enough to power approximately 138,000 homes. Established in 2009, it was once ACCIONA Energía's largest wind farm in Australia. The farm is situated on cleared, undulating land, previously used for dairy, cattle, sheep, and crop farming, chosen for its consistent high winds and proximity to the transmission network. A viewing platform off the Sunraysia Highway offers visitors panoramic views of the turbines.
