Wattle Flat Heritage Lands

Nestled in Wattle Flat, New South Wales, the Wattle Flat Heritage Lands offer a serene retreat into nature. This community-led project preserves native bushland and historic gold mining sites, providing a recreational space for visitors. Camping is available for AUD 5 per night, with facilities including flat camping areas, toilets, and barbecue and picnic spots. The Buurree Walking Trail, named after the local Wiradjuri word for wattle, winds through open woodlands, offering scenic views of Sofala and the Turon Valley. The area also features old mine shafts from the gold rush era, which are fenced off for safety.
