Waterloo Corner, SA

Waterloo Corner is a rural-urban suburb approximately 22 kilometers north of Adelaide, South Australia. The area is predominantly agricultural, cultivating wheat, olives, grapes, and tomatoes. Port Wakefield Road traverses the suburb, facilitating significant heavy freight movement. Established in 1960 by Southern Estates Ltd, the suburb encompasses a portion of section 5028. Historically, it was home to the Waterloo Inn at the junction of St Kilda Road and Port Wakefield Road, and the Elim Chapel and cemetery, both of which have since been demolished. The district extends into the boundaries of the City of Playford. The Waterloo Corner Post Office closed in 1972. The suburb's name may have been inspired by the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
