
Located in the heart of the East Kimberley, Warmun Art Centre is a 100% Gija-owned and governed community enterprise dedicated to celebrating and promoting Gija culture through the arts. Established in 1998 by pioneering artists such as Rover Thomas, Queenie McKenzie, Madigan Thomas, and Hector Jandany, the centre supports both established and emerging artists in creating innovative contemporary works. Visitors can explore a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and prints, all crafted with locally sourced ochre. The centre operates a gallery and studio space, offering an invaluable experience that showcases the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the Warmun community.
