
Warkon is a rural locality in Queensland's Maranoa Region, covering an area of 942.5 square kilometers. As of the 2021 census, it has a population of 30 residents. The Balonne River forms its southern boundary, with several creeks flowing into it. The Roma-Condamine Road traverses the area from west to east. Land use is predominantly cattle grazing, and the region includes state forests such as Yuleba, Wallabella, and Tinowon. The name "Warkon" is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "plenty of water."
