Wangoom is a charming rural locality in Victoria's Western District, approximately 12 kilometers northeast of Warrnambool. Established in the 1870s, it has a rich history rooted in agriculture, particularly dairying. The town features a general store and post office, a memorial town hall, two tennis courts, and a CFA Fire Station. The Wangoom Recreation Reserve, established in 1921, hosts the local cricket club and is also utilized by the Warrnambool Cyclist Club. A notable attraction is the Hopkins Falls, a picturesque waterfall that draws visitors, especially during heavy inflows. The Wangoom Uniting Church continues to serve the community with regular services.
