Walmer Day Visitor Area

Nestled in the Goldfields near Castlemaine, the Walmer Day Visitor Area offers a serene retreat amidst old-growth pine trees and Box-Ironbark forests. Ideal for picnics, it features modern amenities, including an all-abilities toilet and both gas and wood-fired BBQ facilities. The area is also a haven for mountain biking enthusiasts, providing access to some of the region's best trails. Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture through informative signage created by the Djaara First Nations People. Dogs are welcome, and the site is accessible to 2WD vehicles. Please note, there is no rubbish collection; visitors are encouraged to take their rubbish with them upon departure.
