Walcha Council

Walcha Council, located at 2W Hamilton Street, Walcha NSW 2354, serves as the local government authority for the Walcha Shire. The council is responsible for maintaining a road network of approximately 1,150 kilometers and managing an area of 640,028 hectares. It offers a range of services, including water, sewerage, garbage, and recycling. Additionally, Walcha Council operates an extensive branch of the Central Northern Regional Library, providing computer and internet services with a collection of over 3,000 books. The council also manages the local swimming pool, open from November to March, and oversees the General and Catholic Cemeteries in Walcha, as well as those in Nowendoc and Woolbrook.
