Nestled within the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens, the Wagga Wagga Zoo & Aviary offers a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. The zoo is home to a diverse range of native and exotic animals, including dingoes, camels, kangaroos, emus, reptiles, and various farm animals. A highlight is the expansive free-flight aviary, where visitors can walk among 300 birds, such as finches, wrens, doves, lorikeets, and parrots. Many animals roam freely, including ducks, peacocks, black swans, and geese. The Farmland area allows children to interact with pigs, chickens, and rabbits. Entry is free, with donations supporting the Friends of the Wagga Wagga Zoo & Aviary. Regular opening hours are Thursday to Monday, 9 am to 4 pm, with extended hours during school holidays. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
