Nestled within Jim Harris Park in Varsity Lakes, the Varsity Vegies Community Garden is a vibrant, not-for-profit sustainability centre that fosters community engagement through organic gardening. Established in July 2009, it features 40 garden beds, including raised beds accessible to individuals in wheelchairs. The garden is open to the public at all times, offering a welcoming space for all ages and backgrounds to cultivate fresh produce and build connections. It also hosts the Varsity Compost Hub, which processes local food and coffee waste into nutrient-rich compost for the garden.
