Upper Kangaroo River Community Hall

Nestled along Upper River Road in Upper Kangaroo Valley, the Upper Kangaroo River Community Hall is a cherished venue that has been a focal point for local gatherings since its opening in 1963. Built on land donated by Pam and Harold Sharman, it stands as one of the few privately owned community halls in Australia. Over the years, the hall has hosted a diverse array of events, including dances, plays, concerts, weddings, and community festivals. Managed by the Upper Kangaroo River Progress Association, the hall is available for hire to local residents for various occasions. The main hall measures 14x9 meters, offering ample space for up to 150 people, with seating arrangements for 120-130 guests. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and gas stove, and the hall features male and female toilets with accessible ramps. An annex area provides a rustic setting, ideal for events seeking a unique atmosphere. The hall is accessible via public transport, with the nearest bus stop located at Gerringong Creek Rd opposite Treefern Rd, approximately a 5-minute walk away.
