Upper Conservatorium of Music

Located in the heart of Muswellbrook, the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music offers a vibrant hub for music education and performance. Established in 1997, this not-for-profit, community-based organization provides quality music and drama tuition to residents across the Upper Hunter region. With studios in Singleton and Muswellbrook, and teaching at 20 schools, the Conservatorium serves areas from Murrurundi and Blandford in the north to Nulkaba in the south and Merriwa in the west. The facility features versatile rooms suitable for performances, presentations, meetings, and receptions, accommodating up to 500 people. The Atherstone Room, for instance, is ideal for larger events, while the Colvin Room caters to smaller gatherings. The Conservatorium also hosts ensembles, workshops, and specialized Early Childhood Music classes, nurturing musical talents of all ages. Its mission is to foster music as a form of social interaction, expression, and creativity, enhancing the cultural life of the local community.
