Ulan West Operations, situated in the Cudgegong River Valley of New South Wales, is an active underground longwall mining operation. Adjacent to the Ulan No.3 Longwall mine, it commenced production in 2014 and is projected to produce approximately 6.7 million tonnes of export thermal coal annually. The mine has an expected operational life of about 18 years. In May 2025, the New South Wales Department of Planning approved an expansion, allowing the extraction of an additional 25 million tonnes of thermal coal over two years, extending the mine's life by two years to 2035.
