Tortilla Flats is a rural locality in the Coomalie Shire, Northern Territory, Australia, situated approximately 105 kilometers southeast of Darwin. Established in 1958 as a government research farm, it focused on agricultural experiments, including rice cultivation and cattle rotation techniques. During World War II, the area served as an artillery and weapons range for Australian and U.S. forces. Today, the sparsely populated region is primarily dedicated to pastoral activities, with ongoing rice cultivation trials supported by the NT Department of Resources.
