Torrumbarry Weir, situated on the Murray River 35 km northwest of Echuca, is a pivotal structure in Victoria's water management system. Completed in 1996, it diverts approximately 500,000 megalitres of water annually, supporting 120,000 hectares of irrigated land and contributing about $130 million to the agricultural sector. The weir also sustains the Kerang Lakes, a globally significant wetland, and serves as a hub for regional tourism and recreation. Visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing, boating, and exploring the surrounding natural beauty.
