The Empire Theatre, located at 56 & 56A Neil Street in Toowoomba, Queensland, is a heritage-listed venue renowned for its Art Deco architecture. Opened in 1933, it features a grand proscenium arch, a stage over 13 meters wide and 12 meters deep, and an orchestra pit that can be hydraulically raised to audience floor or stage thrust levels. The theatre has a seating capacity of 1,561 and is the largest proscenium arch theatre in regional Australia. It hosts a variety of performances, including vaudeville, opera, and film screenings.
