Tom Volp Park

Tom Volp Park, located at 20 Main Street in Meringandan, Queensland, is a community-focused recreational area offering a variety of amenities. The park features a cricket oval with a concrete wicket, a lit tennis court, and a shaded children's playground. Visitors can enjoy picnics under the rotunda, utilize the barbecue facilities, and access well-maintained toilets. Historically, the parkland surrounds a dam constructed in the late 19th century to supply water to steam trains on a branch line that serviced the small communities north of Toowoomba from the 1880s to the 1950s. The park is named after Tom Volp, a long-serving employee of the former Crows Nest Shire Council.
