Thompsons Foundry Band

Established in 1886, Thompson's Foundry Band is Australia's oldest continuous brass band, deeply rooted in Castlemaine's rich industrial heritage. Originating from the Thompson's Foundry, the band has been an integral part of the community, performing at local events and ceremonies, including every Castlemaine Anzac Day since its inception. The band rehearses in dedicated rooms on the foundry site, preserving its historical connection. Over the years, it has showcased its musical talents at various festivals and competitions, contributing significantly to the cultural landscape of Castlemaine.
