The Regal Theatre, located at 275 Kensington Road, Kensington Park, is Adelaide's oldest continuously operating purpose-built cinema. Opened in 1925 as the Princess Theatre, it was designed by architect Christopher Arthur Smith. The cinema underwent a significant Art Deco renovation in 1941 by F. Kenneth Milne. In 1983, it was heritage-listed on the South Australian Heritage Register. The Regal Theatre offers a single-screen experience with comfortable seating and a Dolby Digital surround sound system. It hosts a variety of films year-round and is home to the popular Hula Hoop Restaurant and Café. The venue is accessible, featuring ramps and dedicated parking spaces. Managed by the City of Burnside, the Regal Theatre continues to be a cherished part of Adelaide's cultural landscape.
