The Manor, located at 2 Iluka Road in Mosman, is a grand Federation Queen Anne-style mansion built around 1911. Originally conceived as an eight-room cottage by William John Bakewell, it expanded to 55 rooms, many adorned with beaten copper, earning the nickname "Bakewell's Folly." In 1922, the Theosophical Society established a community here, with Charles Leadbeater at the helm. The property became a significant center for the Society, even hosting the radio station 2GB in 1926. Today, The Manor remains a vital hub for the Theosophical Society.
