Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, it hosts live performances featuring local, national, and international bands, alongside dance, comedy, karaoke, and cabaret acts. The venue also boasts a lounge bar known as the Kissing Room, private function spaces, and an art gallery. Notably, The Grand Poobah has been the host of LIMBO's party for queer Tasmanians since 2017, a continually successful event that also donates some of its proceeds to Working It Out.
