Nestled in Mount Martha, The Briars Wildlife Sanctuary spans 230 hectares of diverse landscapes, including woodlands and wetlands. Visitors can explore various walking trails, such as the 2 km Woodland Walk and the 350-meter Wetland Walk, both offering opportunities to observe native wildlife like koalas and wallabies. The sanctuary also features a Visitor Centre, picnic areas with free BBQs, and the Shire Nursery, which offers a range of native and indigenous plants. The historic Briars Homestead, constructed in 1851, is currently undergoing extensive restoration and is expected to reopen to the public in 2025.
