The Austral, located at 202 Johnston Street in Collingwood, Victoria, is a historic venue with a rich legacy. Established in 1921, it began as a cinema, the Austral Picture Theatre, and later transformed into a roller-skating rink. In 2003, the building became home to Mr Carpets / Inner City Floorworld, a carpet store. In 2019, the site was sold to a developer with plans to convert it into apartments, retaining the original theatre's facade. As of June 2025, the building continues to operate as a carpet store.
