Tennyson, SA

Tennyson Dunes, also known as Wara Wayingga, is a 22-hectare coastal conservation reserve located 12 kilometers northwest of Adelaide. As the last remnant of the city's original coastal dunes, it offers a unique glimpse into the region's natural history. The dunes are home to 52 plant species, including 16 with conservation significance, and support a diverse array of wildlife, such as the endangered Painted Dragon lizard and the rare Bitterbush Blue Butterfly. Visitors can explore the area via a self-guided walking trail, immersing themselves in its rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.
