Tea Tree Gully, SA

Nestled in the historic township of Tea Tree Gully, the Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum is housed in the 1854 Highercombe Hotel, a two-storey bluestone building that has served as a hotel, community meeting room, post office, schoolroom, and residence. Managed by volunteers from the National Trust of South Australia, the museum showcases domestic life from the 1850s to the 1950s across thirteen rooms and four display pavilions. Visitors can explore exhibits like the blacksmith shop, police cell, laundry, and beautifully manicured gardens. Regular events, including 'Heritage on Sunday' and school holiday activities, offer engaging experiences for all ages. The museum is open on the third Sunday of each month from 11 am to 4 pm, with entry fees supporting its ongoing preservation.
