Tathra Beach

Tathra Beach is a picturesque 3-kilometer stretch of sand in the heart of Tathra, New South Wales. Protected from southerly winds, it offers excellent conditions for surfing, board riding, and sailboarding. The beach is home to migrating whales, the endangered Little Tern, and morning visits from wallabies and kangaroos. At its northern end, Mogareeka Inlet provides sheltered swimming, paddling, and fishing opportunities. The Tathra Surf Life Saving Club, operational for over a century, hosts major events like the biennial George Bass Marathon and the Tathra Wharf to Waves ocean swim. An all-abilities playground adjacent to the beach ensures fun for all visitors.
