TARGA Australia, established in 1992, is renowned for organizing premier tarmac rally events across Australia, including TARGA Tasmania, TARGA High Country, and TARGA Great Barrier Reef. These events offer both competitive races and non-competitive touring experiences, allowing participants to drive on closed roads in some of the country's most scenic locations. In July 2023, TARGA Australia suspended all future motorsport-based events to assess the impact of Motorsport Australia's safety review on tarmac rallying. The organization is currently evaluating its future direction in the motorsport landscape.
