Tahbilk Eco Trails

Explore the Tahbilk Wetlands & Wildlife Reserve, a 1,214-hectare sanctuary in central Victoria's Nagambie Lakes region. The reserve features over 4 kilometers of dedicated Eco Trails pathways and boardwalks, allowing visitors to traverse diverse habitats and encounter a variety of wildlife such as water birds, kangaroos, wallabies, and echidnas. Alternatively, enjoy a 45-minute guided Eco Cruise through the wetlands, offering insights into the area's rich history and unique ecosystem. The boats are powered by environmentally friendly motors and can accommodate up to 30 passengers in all-weather comfort. The best times to visit are during the spring and autumn months when the weather is mild and wildlife is active. Bird enthusiasts can spot various species, including the endangered Australasian Bittern. The reserve is open on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm and on weekends and public holidays from 10 am to 5 pm. Visitors are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear, carry water, and stay on designated pathways. Smoking, picnics, alcohol, and dogs are not permitted.
