Sugar Creek Picnic Area

Nestled within Wallingat National Park, Sugar Creek Picnic Area offers a serene retreat among towering cabbage palms and flooded gums. Visitors can enjoy gas barbecues and embark on easy walks through lush rainforest and dense palm forests. The area is home to diverse wildlife, including wallabies, goannas, and over 200 bird species like king parrots and glossy black cockatoos. From September to December, the red beard orchid adds a splash of purple, while early spring brings the mauve blossoms of the velvet mint-bush.
