The Styx Tall Trees Conservation Area in Tasmania's Styx Valley is renowned for its towering Eucalyptus regnans, or giant ash trees, some exceeding 90 meters in height and over 500 years old. Visitors can explore several signposted walks, including the Big Tree Reserve, a 700-meter boardwalk among these forest giants, and the Styx Rivers Walk, a 200-meter stroll along the Styx River. The area also offers opportunities for trout fishing. Accessible via Styx Road from Maydena, the reserve is approximately a two-hour drive from Hobart and 45 minutes from Mount Field National Park.
