Struan, SA

Struan House, constructed between 1873 and 1875, is a historic mansion located 17 km south of Naracoorte, South Australia. Built by Scottish-born pastoralist John Robertson, the 40-room residence showcases locally quarried limestone and sandstone, reflecting Victorian architectural elegance. The property has served various purposes, including a correctional school for boys and, since 1969, as the South East Regional Headquarters for the Department of Agriculture. Today, it offers office and conference facilities for agricultural research and services, including soils, crop agronomy, livestock, pest plants, and natural resource management.
