Stony Head Military Training Area

Stony Head Military Training Area, located approximately 29 kilometers northeast of George Town, Tasmania, serves as a vital artillery range and training center for the Australian Army. Established in 1966, it has been integral to military exercises, including those conducted by the 2nd Force Support Battalion and local Army Cadet units. The area encompasses diverse habitats, supporting unique invertebrate species, and has been involved in conservation efforts, such as the release of Tasmanian devils in 2016.
