Established in 1986 through the merger of City-South and East Launceston, the South Launceston Football Club, known as the Bulldogs, competes in the Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA). The club fields men's, women's, and under-18 teams, all playing their home games at Youngtown Memorial Oval, a venue with a capacity of approximately 3,500. The Bulldogs have a rich history, securing NTFA premierships in 1886, 1887, 1890, 1891, 1895, 1902, 1903, 1907, 1908, 1910, 1914, 1921, 1922, 1928, 1930, 1932, 1939, 1941, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1956, 1959, 1960, 1962, 1966, and 1972. Their most recent achievement includes winning the NTFA premiership in 2014 and 2015. The club's vision is to become Tasmania's premier football club and player development facility, fostering high levels of respect from the local community.
