Shorten Reserve

Shorten Reserve, located at 81 Essex Street in West Footscray, is a vibrant community hub offering a variety of recreational facilities. The reserve features a well-maintained oval, serving as the home ground for the West Footscray Roosters Australian Rules Football Club and the Druids Cricket Club. Adjacent to the oval, a fully fenced playground provides a safe environment for children, complete with a large green car/tractor, swings, a nest swing, climbing frame, sandpit, and double slides. Additional amenities include shaded seating, picnic tables, a barbecue area, and ample free parking. The reserve is also home to RecWest Footscray, a recreation centre offering a variety of fitness programs for all ages. Ongoing upgrades aim to enhance the facilities, including the addition of a new RecWest building, multi-use courts, and improved playgrounds.
