Shorncliffe Pier, originally known as Sandgate Pier, is a historic timber structure extending 351.5 meters into Bramble Bay, making it Brisbane's largest timber pier and one of Australia's longest recreational piers. Completed in 1884, it has been a cherished spot for fishing, leisurely walks, and enjoying panoramic views of the Redcliffe Peninsula, Boondall Wetlands, and Moreton Bay Islands. The pier underwent a significant renewal in 2016, preserving its heritage character while introducing modern amenities like fish cleaning stations, benches, and a larger rotunda. It also serves as the starting point for the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.
