Located in the historic former Sebastopol State School building, the Sebastopol Historical Society offers a captivating glimpse into the area's rich past. Established in 1973, this not-for-profit community group collects, preserves, and shares artifacts and archival materials spanning from the pre-gold rush era to the present. The museum showcases a diverse collection, including homewares, mining equipment, war memorabilia, school artifacts, honor boards, and early photographs. Open to the public on the first Sunday of each month from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the museum also welcomes group visits by appointment. Membership provides access to research facilities, a quarterly newsletter, and opportunities to engage with guest speakers and outings. Affiliated with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria, the society's monthly meetings are held on the fourth Thursday at 7:30 pm, followed by supper and a chat.
