
Scotchtown is a rural locality situated approximately 6 kilometers south of Smithton in Tasmania's North West region. As of the 2016 census, it has a population of 254 residents. The area is characterized by fertile soils and a mild climate, making it suitable for agriculture, particularly cropping and livestock farming. The Duck River flows through Scotchtown from south to north, forming much of its western boundary. The locality was gazetted in 1973 and is part of the Circular Head local government area.
