Saxons Cycling Ballarat is a vibrant cycling community that welcomes riders of all levels to join their regular group rides. Departing from Saxon House on Mair Street, the group meets at 8 am every Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday, embarking on 60 to 70 km routes through Ballarat's picturesque countryside. Riders can expect a mix of headwinds and tailwinds, with the peloton often splitting to accommodate different speed preferences, averaging between 24 kph and 28 kph. Post-ride, participants gather for coffee by the lake, fostering camaraderie among cycling enthusiasts. The Saxons also actively participate in events like the Blue Pyrenees Magic (120 km) and Audax (200 km), and support cancer research through the Fiona Elsey Ballarat Classic (up to 170 km).
