Savage River Walk

The Savage River Walk is a 3 km trek through Tasmania's pristine temperate rainforest, starting from Corinna and leading to the Savage River. This trail offers a fresh perspective on the Tarkine wilderness, showcasing towering myrtle beech and ancient Huon pine trees. Along the ridges, hikers are treated to magnificent views of the Pieman River. The journey culminates at the site where the SS Croydon was sunk in 1919; the wreck is visible under suitable weather conditions. The return walk typically takes about four hours, allowing for a comprehensive rainforest experience.
