The Headland walking track in Saltwater National Park offers a 0.7 km return journey through lush rainforest, culminating at the Saltwater Lookout. This flat, well-marked trail is suitable for all fitness levels and features a wooden boardwalk with handrails leading to the lookout. From here, visitors are treated to panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Saltwater Beach, and Khappinghat Creek's river mouth. The lookout also serves as an excellent whale-watching spot from August through November, with opportunities to observe humpback whales during their annual migration.
