
The Bolivar Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 9 Bolivar Interchange Connector Road, Bolivar SA 5110, is South Australia's largest facility of its kind, serving the greater Adelaide region. It processes approximately 150 million litres of sewage daily, equivalent to about 60% of metropolitan Adelaide's raw sewage. The plant employs advanced treatment stages to produce biogas, biosolids, and recycled water, contributing to environmental sustainability. Notably, it has achieved 87% energy self-sufficiency through biogas production, powering a significant portion of its operations. The facility also recycles around 20 billion litres of water annually for various uses, including irrigation and horticulture.
