Established in 1849 as the George Inn, the Royal Tenterfield is a historic hotel located on High Street, opposite the Tenterfield Saddler. The hotel features a public bar, TAB facilities, a bottle shop, and a seven-day restaurant. Accommodations include both hotel and motel rooms, with the largest private car park in town, accommodating RVs, caravans, and trucks. The on-site Munro's Bar & Kitchen operates Monday to Wednesday from 3 pm, and Thursday to Sunday from 11:30 am, serving lunch and dinner. The George Inn Restaurant is open Friday and Saturday from 6 pm and is available for functions.
